Job summary

Presbyterian Healthcare Services in Albuquerque, NM, is hiring a Patient Visit Specialist to support visit closure activities and coordinate patient care. You will guide patients through the next steps ordered by the clinician and optimize scheduling for accuracy and efficiency within the department.

The role requires experience in medical offices, familiarity with prior authorizations, and EPIC registration.

Qualifications

• Experience in the medical office, hospital, or clinic with patients and providers is preferred.
• Medical terminology training or familiarity is beneficial.
• Proficiency in prior authorization/certification/referral processes preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review orders entered into the EHR by the clinician.
• Schedule return visits, labs, radiology, and imaging appointments.
• Obtain prior authorizations/referrals per payor protocols.
• Validate patient MyChart access and HIPAA privacy.
• Communicate with clinicians when scheduling restrictions apply.
• Provide appointment reminders and rescheduling as needed.
