Job summary

Advocate Health is seeking a Patient Transport teammate at Advocate Trinity Hospital in Chicago to ensure safe and efficient movement of patients within the facility. This full-time role (1.0 FTE) features 40 hours per week, 1:30pm–10:00pm shifts, and every-other-weekend coverage.

The position emphasizes accuracy, privacy, and teamwork in a fast-paced hospital environment. Responsibilities include identifying correct patients, selecting appropriate transport modes, following safety protocols,

Qualifications

• High school graduate or GED.
• Some computer knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Identify proper patient to be transported by checking armband.
• Make sure mode of transport is appropriate to patient’s condition.
• Ensure proper precautions are taken for each patient (oxygen, I-med, Foley catheter, chest tube, etc).
• Protect patient privacy during transport.
• Fill oxygen tanks daily.
• Instruct and help new transport staff so they are trained.
• Relay pertinent patient information to supervisor or department/technician.
• Notify supervisor of delays in getting patients.
• Follow institutional safety policies.
• Keep carts clean and report any equipment needing repair.
• Handle patient folders and documentation as needed.
