Baptist Health in Kentucky seeks a Transporter for part-time hours (20 weekly) with a mix of first and second shifts. The role involves transporting patients safely by wheelchair or bed, delivering items between departments, and assisting with mobility and transfers while adhering to infection control standards.

You will ensure patient comfort and safety during transport, report any distress or equipment issues promptly, and verify patient identity per protocol.

Qualificações

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) preferred upon hire and required within six weeks of hire.
• Six months experience in a hospital or long-term care facility preferred.

Responsabilidades

• Transport patients safely and efficiently to and from clinical, ancillary, and support areas via wheelchair or movable bed, including patients with oxygen tanks, IV pumps, drips, and special equipment.
• Provide distribution services of requested items between departments per established procedures.
• Assist patients with mobility needs and transfers to beds, wheelchairs, stretchers, and other devices.
• Assist with patient handling and lifting using appropriate safety equipment and protocols.
• Ensure patient comfort and safety during transport and communicate distress or equipment issues to the appropriate personnel.
• Validate patient identity according to department protocol.
