Job summary

Baptist Health in Kentucky is seeking a Lead Transporter for full-time first shift. The role coordinates daily activities of the hospital transport team and ensures safe, efficient movement of patients and equipment throughout the facility.

You will support staff training, monitor productivity, and help maintain safety standards. You will perform patient transport, assist with onboarding, manage staffing during shifts, and address workflow bottlenecks.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.
• Less than one year of related experience required.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
• Must obtain BLS through the American Heart Association within 90 days of hire.
• Ability to coordinate staff workflow and communicate effectively with hospital departments.
• Ability to safely transport patients and operate hospital transport equipment.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate daily activities of the transport team during assigned shifts.
• Perform patient transport and lift team duties as needed.
• Assist with training and onboarding of new transport staff.
• Manage staffing needs, including covering shortages and coordinating call-ins.
• Distribute workload and redirect staff during high-volume periods.
• Monitor transport productivity and address workflow bottlenecks.
• Assist with Epic patient tracking system, reporting, and troubleshooting.
• Maintain department equipment, supplies, and inventory.
• Communicate operational issues and updates to leadership.
• Promote a safe environment by following hospital safety and infection control policies.
