Job summary

Virtua Health is seeking a part-time, per diem Patient Transporter in Marlton, NJ, for the 2nd shift. You will transport patients by wheelchair, stretcher, or bed, ensuring safety and comfort, and support multiple departments as needed. The role requires weekend/holiday availability and a positive, customer-service oriented demeanor.

Hourly rate ranges with benefits such as health insurance and paid time off. This position is on-site and part-time with schedules that cover evenings and weekends.

Summary:

This position is responsible for assisting and supporting all departments by transporting patients to and from units/departments; uses wheelchairs, stretchers, or bed.

Position Responsibilities:

• Transport patients to and from departments/units. Includes appropriate patient identification, patient comfort and safety (assisting in lifting, moving and positioning in bed/wheelchair, etc), and providing patient information.
• Care for and clean wheelchairs/stretchers and initiate appropriate action when repair is required (check supply of oxygen, replenish and change regulators as necessary).
• Coordinates with other transporters based on patient schedules to ensure smooth flow of transport operations; communicates patient information to nurses and testing (diagnostic) departments as necessary.

Position Qualifications Required / Experience Required:

Must demonstrate a positive demeanor and have strong verbal communication skills.

Must be able to handle potentially stressful situations and multi-task.

Customer service experience preferred.

Required Education:

High School diploma or equivalent.

Hourly Rate: $18.00 - $21.33The actual salary/rate will vary based on applicant’s experience as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.
