Job summary

Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center is seeking a Patient Transporter to move patients in the PACU and around the surgery center. The role supports patient comfort, timeliness, and safe transport within a fast-paced ambulatory setting.

Qualifications include a High School Diploma and at least 1 year in healthcare; BLS certification is required. Prior ambulatory surgery center experience is preferred. This position emphasizes compassionate care and teamwork.

Qualifications

• Current BLS required.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to the car via wheelchair and assists on/off stretchers.
• Comforts patients and families by offering support and punctuality with procedures.
• Transports equipment and supplies to treatment areas and patient care areas.
• Cleans and prepares stretchers, recliners, and wheelchairs for patient use.
• Maintains a safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Restocks and organizes medical supplies in PreOP/PACU areas.
• Other duties as assigned.

Patient Transporter at Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center

The Patient Transporterhelps patients by transporting them into, around, and out of the surgery center.

Responsibilities:

• Transports patients by assisting patients to the car via wheelchair; lifting patients on and off stretchers and recliners.
• Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.
• Transports equipment, supplies, and delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.
• Cleans and prepares stretchers, recliners, and wheelchairs for patient use.
• Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
• Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
• Restocking, maintaining and organizing medical supplies in the PreOP/PACU areas.
• Other duties as assigned.
