Job summary

Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center, part of USPI, seeks a Patient Transporter to move patients into, around, and out of the surgery center. Responsibilities include assisting patients to wheelchairs, ensuring comfort, and maintaining clean transport equipment.

Candidates should have a high school diploma and at least 1 year in healthcare, with BLS required. Experience in ambulatory surgical centers is preferred.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Current BLS certification required.
  • Ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Transports patients to and from the car and within the center using wheelchairs and stretchers.
  • Provides comfort and support while maintaining punctual schedules and cultural sensitivity.
  • Moves equipment and supplies to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.
  • Cleans and prepares stretchers, recliners, and wheelchairs.
  • Maintains safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • Keeps job knowledge up to date through training opportunities.
  • Restocks and organizes medical supplies in PreOP/PACU areas.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Patient Transporter at Orlando Ophthalmology Surgery Center

The Patient Transporter **** helps patients by transporting them into, around, and out of the surgery center.

Responsibilities:

  • Transports patients by assisting patients to the car via wheelchair; lifting patients on and off stretchers and recliners.
  • Comforts patients and their families by offering support and encouragement; being punctual and attentive to procedure schedules; demonstrating caring and cultural sensitivity.
  • Transports equipment, supplies, and delivering them to assigned treatment areas and patient care areas.
  • Cleans and prepares stretchers, recliners, and wheelchairs for patient use.
  • Maintains safe, secure, and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures.
  • Updates job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities.
  • Restocking, maintaining and organizing medical supplies in the PreOP/PACU areas.
  • Other duties as assigned. ****

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in a healthcare setting.
  • Previous experience in an ambulatory surgical center or surgical hospital preferred.
  • Current BLS required.
