Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Transport teammate for Elmhurst Hospital. This part-time role offers 28 hours per week with a 9pm–5:30am shift, every other weekend and rotating holidays. You will transport patients by wheelchair or stretcher, assist with IV pumps, and deliver equipment across nursing floors.

Requires high-school diploma, BLS, and at least six months of transporter or customer service experience. Hourly pay ranges from $18.23 to $25.52.

Qualifications

• HS diploma required.
• BLS for healthcare provider (American Heart Association) required.
• At least six months of customer service or patient transporter experience.
• Must be able to lift over 50 lbs, carry 80 lbs, and push/pull over 200 lbs.
• Ability to work nights and weekends per schedule.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed, or alternative means.
• Disconnect/re-connect IV pumps from IV pole and oxygen.
• Deliver patient equipment to nursing floors as needed.

$18.23 - $25.52 - The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights:

Hours: 9pm - 5:30am including every other weekend & rotating holiday schedule

What you will need:

• Education (Required): High-school diploma
• Certification: o American Heart Association BLS for healthcare provider
• Experience & Skills:
  • Excellent communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Minimum six months customer service or patient transporter experience
  • Work conditions include working in an area that is somewhat unpleasant due to drafts, noise, temperature variation or the like, and working with equipment or performing procedures where carelessness would probably result in minor cuts, bruises or muscle strains.
  • Functional demands are very heavy, needing very high energy level. Work requires the ability to lift over 50 lbs. Carry 80 lbs. a distance of 30 feet. Push/pull > 200 lbs. (i.e. Patients on bed, stretcher) Lateral transfer or max assist sit to stand transfer.

What you will do:

Under general supervision and according to established policies and procedures, transports patients via wheelchair, stretcher, bed or alternative means. This includes disconnecting and re‑connecting patient's IV pumps from the IV pole and oxygen. Delivers patient equipment to nursing floors as needed.
