Job summary

Central Maine Medical Center in Lewiston, ME is seeking a Transporter to move patients to and from the department, assist with darkroom duties, and support front-office operations in a busy hospital setting.

Responsibilities include answering phones, greeting patients, preparing outpatient requisitions, handling patient records, and providing clerical support using PACS and standard office equipment; high school diploma required and BCLS certification preferred.

Qualifications

• Must have BCLS (AHA) upon hire and maintain current throughout employment.
• Transportation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from the department.
• Darkroom duties, ordering supplies, stocking, dressing patients and front office duties.
• Answers telephones, greets patients and prepares requisitions for outpatients.
• Filing patient reports, retrieving patient records for physicians or medical records.
• Demonstrates knowledge of test terminology; maintains polite telephone etiquette and greeting of patients/visitors.
• Provides clerical support using telephone, computer, PACS, and by running errands throughout the facility.
