Job summary

Xanitos, Inc. is hiring a Part-Time Patient Transporter for the 1st Shift at UMH Sparrow in Lansing, MI. The role focuses on the safe, timely transport of patients, specimens, supplies and equipment to support clinical teams in delivering patient care.

You will follow body mechanics, ensure correct patient identification, coordinate with nurses and dispatch, and maintain cleanliness and safety standards. Prior healthcare or janitorial experience and a high school diploma are valued.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• COVID-19 vaccination required.
• Experience in janitorial industry a plus.
• Post-Offer Medical, Background Screening and Drug Test required.

Responsibilities

• Verifies patient identification using two identifiers and confirms details before transport.
• Safely transports patients to destination using appropriate equipment.
• Uses proper body mechanics when handling patients.
• Demonstrates competency across age groups and cultures.
• Notifies nursing staff or dispatcher upon arrival and changes in status.
• Keeps transport equipment clean and properly stored after use.
• Maintains patient confidentiality per hospital policy.
