Job summary

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital in Scottsdale, AZ is seeking a Patient Transporter on a PRN/Per Diem basis with Saturday availability. You will drive patients to programs and appointments, perform basic vehicle upkeep, and support other facility areas as required.

The role may transition to full-time with growth. Preference is given to candidates with nursing assistance education and/or hospital experience, plus a valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Two years of education in nursing assistance or related field preferred.
• Experience in passenger transportation required.
• Behavioral health or hospital setting experience preferred.
• Arizona driver's license with a clean 39-month driving record required.
• EMT/CNA/Medical Assistant or security training coursework preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from the program and appointments safely and on time.
• Perform basic automotive maintenance such as fueling, fluid checks and tire inflation.
• Assist with patient activities between transportation duties and support other areas as needed.

Education

Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is an innovative behavioral health hospital offering a full continuum of inpatient and outpatient services to the people of Scottsdale and the greater Phoenix, Arizona metro area. The Patient Transporter drives patients to and from the program and various appointments, safely and punctually. These tasks include conducting basic automotive maintenance, including fueling vehicles, checking and maintaining routine fluid levels, and maintaining proper tire inflation. In between transportation to and from programs, the transporter may assist with patient activities. In addition to these primary transportation functions, the individual may support other facility areas as assigned.

PRN/Per Diem with Saturday availability. Potential to become full time with future growth.

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Education: Minimum two (2) years of education focused on nursing assistance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum Experience: Passenger transportation experience.
• Preferred Experience: Experience working in behavioral health or in a hospital environment preferred.
• Required Certification/License: Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clear 39 month driving report.
• Preferred Certification/License: Completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training program or equivalent preferred.
