Via Linda Behavioral Hospital is seeking a PRN/Per Diem Patient Transporter in Scottsdale, AZ. The role involves driving patients to appointments and assisting with basic vehicle maintenance, with potential to become full-time.

Prior passenger transport experience and a valid Arizona driver’s license with a clean driving record are required. Preferred candidates may have two years of nursing assistance education or related field experience and background in behavioral health or hospital

Qualifications

• Minimum Education: High School diploma or equivalent.
• Preferred Education: Minimum two (2) years of education focused on nursing assistance, or related field preferred.
• Minimum Experience: Passenger transportation experience.
• Preferred Experience: Experience working in behavioral health or in a hospital environment preferred.
• Required Certification/ License: Valid Arizona driver’s license with a clear 39 month driving report.
• Preferred Certification/ License: Completion of EMT, CNA, Medical Assistant, Security Training program or equivalent preferred. Food Handler's card.

Responsibilities

• The Patient Transporter drives patients to and from the program and various appointments, safely and punctually.
• These individuals conduct basic automotive maintenance, including fueling vehicles, checking and maintaining routine fluid levels, and maintaining proper tire inflation.
• In between transportation to and from programs, the transporter may assist with patient activities and support other facility areas as assigned.
• They will also transport meals from nearby external facility.
