• Maintain equipment cleanliness (wheelchairs, stretchers, oxygen tanks) and report equipment issues.
• Follow emergency procedures (Code 99, Code Red) and Lahey policies; participate in quality improvement activities.

Burlington, MA • Lahey Hospital and Medical Center • Part-time • EveningWhen you join the growing BILH team, you're not just taking a job, you’re making a difference in people’s lives.Under general supervision, transports patients to and from the Radiology Department while maintaining patient safety and dignity.Monday-Friday4:00 PM- 8:00 PMRotating weekend and Holiday availablity requiredJob Description:Essential Duties & Responsibilities including but not limited to:Transfers patients to and from the nursing floors to the various sections of the Radiology department in a courteous, timely, and safe manner, following appropriate standards for patient transport.Ensures that patients are placed safely in wheelchairs and on stretchers.Transports patients according to the “Hospital Travel Ticket” asking for clarification from unit if necessary.Establishes appropriate and effective communication with patients and/or family members in order to maintain patient comfort and safety.Transfers care of patients to the appropriate Radiology personnel by entering each patient’s name in the appropriate logbook and speaking directly to a member of the receiving modality.Follows Lahey policy on Correct Patient Identification using two patient identifiers. Verifies by matching information on each patient’s name band.Informs the nursing station when each patient leaves the floor and is brought back.Ensures that wheelchairs, stretchers and O2 tanks are properly cleaned and ready for use on a daily basis.
