Beth Israel Lahey Health – New England Baptist Hospital is hiring a Patient Transport teammate for a 20-hour per week, part-time schedule in Boston. You will transport patients, visitors, and equipment, follow transport logs, and assist clinical staff with moving patients from beds or chairs and with routine trips across the campus.

Qualifications

• High School graduate or equivalent preferred.
• Heart Saver certification required within 60 days of hire date from American Heart Association or Red Cross.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients, visitors, belongings, and equipment throughout the hospital.
• Refer to log and determine method of transportation needed and follow through.
• Deliver or pick up patients in a prompt courteous manner upon telephone request.
• Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds or chairs or stretchers.
• Responsible for hourly medical trips and for mail delivery throughout the hospital.
• Stock and clean precaution carts on nursing units and assist with related tasks.

Rotating**Job Description:****ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES (including but not limited to):*** Under the direction of the Manager, provides transportation of patients.* Refer to log and determine method of transportation needed and follow through.* Upon telephone request, deliver or pick up patients in a prompt courteous manner.* Assist clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds or chairs or stretchers.* Responsible for hourly medical trip.* Report to all assigned areas in Nursing Departments in order to deliver/pick up inpatient or outpatient needs (specimens, cultures, bloods, non-narcotic meds, pharmacy requisitions, etc.).* Responds to all stat requests from OR and Nursing Units within ten (10) minutes (stat bloods, cultures, oncology requests).* Responsible for the mail throughout the Hospital.* Sort all mail and file according to department.* Responsible for flower, fruit basket and package delivery for patients and Hospital employees.* Responsible for all requests from General Stores, Equipment Room, and Radiology at specified times.* Responsibilities include stocking and cleaning the precaution carts on the nursing units.* Stocks precaution carts daily.* Cleans precaution carts every weekend.* Plans time away from work appropriately:* Arrives and leaves at designated times* Uses unplanned earned time appropriately.* Performs other duties as required.* Participates in annual safety review.* Assist with yearly employees’ evaluations.**EDUCATION:*** High School graduate or equivalent preferred* Heart Saver certification required within 60 days of hire date from American Heart Association or Red Cross**MINIMUM EXPERIENCE:*** 0-1 year of experience**OTHER REQUIREMENTS:*** Consistently promote a culture of Wellbeing, Empathy, Collaboration, Accountability, Respect, and Equity as outlined in the organization's WE CARE values.**Pay Range:**$17.00 - $22.88The pay range listed for this position is the base hourly wage range the organization reasonably and in good faith expects to pay for this position at this time. Actual compensation is determined based on several factors, that may include seniority, education, training, relevant experience, relevant certifications, geography of work location, job responsibilities, or other applicable factors permissible by law.
