Job summary

University of Wisconsin Hospitals and Clinics Authority in Madison is seeking a Patient Transporter (Finance) to provide safe, timely transport of patients throughout the hospital campus and to support patient comfort and privacy during every transfer. This full-time role requires documenting transport requests in the system, maintaining daily logs, and collaborating with clinical staff.

A High School Diploma and CPR certification (or ability to obtain within 60 days) are required; prior patient

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required).
  • CPR certification or ability to obtain certification within 60 days of hire (Required).
  • Relevant patient care experience in a healthcare environment (Preferred).

Responsibilities

  • Transport patients to and from nursing units and various therapy/laboratory areas, ensuring safety, comfort and privacy during transport.
  • Utilize the transport information system to record transactional records and document transport details in daily logs with signatures for changes and confirmations.

Work Schedule :

This is a full-time, 100% FTE position. Scheduled hours are Monday through Friday from 6:00 AM - 2:30 PM, with rotating weekends and holidays. Hours may vary based on the operational needs of the department.

We are seeking a Patient Services Aide to:

  • Provide excellent customer service while safely transporting our patients to and from nursing units and various therapy/laboratory areas throughout the University Hospital and the American Family Children's Hospital.
  • Ensure timely transportation and patient safety, comfort, and privacy throughout the transport.
  • Utilize the Patient Transport information system to acquire and record transactional records regarding all transport requests.
  • Document transport information on daily log sheets and obtain signatures from clinical staff for all cancelations, reschedules, and confirmations of patient drop-offs.

Qualifications
  • High School Diploma or equivalent (Required)
Work Experience
  • Relevant patient care experience in a healthcare environment (Preferred)
Licenses & Certifications
  • CPR certification or the ability to receive certification within 60 days of hire (Required)
