Job summary

Ascension Health Alliance is seeking a Patient Transporter to join their team at St. Vincent Evansville. In this role, you will transport patients throughout the facility, supporting both patient care and operational needs. Your contributions will help ensure a smooth and caring experience for patients in the facility. Candidates are expected to have a high school education and a BLS certification within 30 days of hire.

Responsibilities

Transport patients, specimens and equipment throughout the facility.

• Transport patients via wheelchair, stretcher or bed to designated sites as requested, including patients with oxygen tanks, intravenous pumps, drips, monitors and other equipment.
• Assist patients with entering and exiting vehicles, including transfer from or to wheelchairs or stretchers.
• Deliver equipment and specimens to requesting staff or department. May assist staff with removal of deceased bodies from units and transport to morgue.
• Greet and provide information and direction to patients and visitors.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

• BLS Provider obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.

Education:

• High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.
  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience, if applicable.
