Qualifications

  • Must possess and maintain current BLS certification or obtain within three months from date of hire.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
  • Must be able to understand written, verbal, and other sensory stimuli.
  • Must be able to cope effectively with stressful situations and time constraints.
  • Must be able to interpret scientific data in a logical and coherent manner.
  • Must be able to independently solve problems and follow detailed written and verbal instruction.

Responsibilities

  • Safely transports patients to and from hospital areas using appropriate equipment (wheelchair or cart) based on patient condition.
  • Promptly transports patient to destination and notifies arrival to designated individual.
  • Performs patient transfers with approved transfer mobility equipment when appropriate.
  • Completes hospital-wide orientation, annual competencies and department/unit-specific competencies.
  • Adheres to vaccination requirements as part of safety protocols.
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspace and reports malfunctions.
  • Supports School of Radiology educational process and communicates with faculty on student progress.
  • Performs other duties as assigned

Responsibilities
Personal
  • Safely transports patients to and from hospital areas and departments utilizing proper equipment (wheelchair or cart) appropriate to the patient's condition and lifting techniques.
  • Promptly transports patient to destination and notifies patient arrival to designated individual.
  • Perform patient transfers with approved transfer mobility equipment when appropriate.
  • Successfully completes hospital-wide orientation, annual hospital competencies and department/unit specific competencies.
  • For the safety of our patients and co-workers, St. Luke's Hospital requires seasonal and job-related vaccinations. This is reviewed regularly during periodic health assessments.
  • Patient transporters may transport contrast media to inpatients, ED patients 6000-44
  • Performs other duties as assigned
Team
  • Maintains cleanliness of equipment and workspace and reports equipment malfunctions in a timely manner.
  • Understand requirements for student supervision as outlined in the Student Supervision policy.
  • Support the School of Radiology educational process.
  • Maintain current knowledge of School of Radiology policies, procedures, and student progress.
  • Communicate with School of Radiology faculty on student-related progress and issues.
Qualifications
  • Must possess and maintain current Basic Life Support (BLS) certification or obtain within three (3) months from date of hire.
  • Must complete on the job training.
  • Must possess excellent communication skills.
