Allure of Peru is seeking a reliable Van Driver to transport patients to and from hospitals, medical offices, dialysis centers, and private residences. The role emphasizes safe driving, patient care, and strong communication with facility staff.

Responsibilities include assisting with boarding, securing wheelchairs, maintaining vehicle logs, and performing basic vehicle upkeep. Applicants should have a high school diploma or equivalent and an Illinois driver’s license.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Active Illinois Driver's License required.
• Driver's License requirements depend on vehicle size (Class C or E).
• No driver under 25 or over 74.
• DOT compliant physical.
• Experience as a bus or van driver preferred.
• Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
• Ability to communicate effectively with residents.

Responsibilities

• Provide high-level customer service while transporting residents to and from activities, appointments, and other outings
• Assist residents with boarding and leaving the bus, securing wheelchairs and walkers, and assisting with groceries and packages
• Monitor resident safety at all times, ensuring their well-being and comfort during travel
• Perform general upkeep of the vehicle, including fueling, conducting preventative maintenance, and delivering the vehicle to authorized service facilities
• Maintain accurate records of vehicle usage, including daily vehicle pre-trip and post-trip inspections and vehicle cleanliness
• Follow all safety procedures and protocols, reporting any hazardous conditions, defective equipment, or accidents/incidents to the supervisor immediately
• Communicate effectively with facility staff regarding schedule progress and receive additional instructions
• Understand how to operate GPS, Two-Way Radio, and/or Cell Phone to navigate effectively
• Maintain accurate activity and vehicle report logs
