Job summary

Encompass Health Corporation seeks a Van Driver to support patient transportation and hospital operations in Fort Smith, AR. You will help transport patients, assist with patient care access, and maintain a positive, professional environment for patients, families, and staff.

Qualifications

• Valid driver’s license appropriate for the heaviest class vehicle.
• CPR and First Aid Training.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Must be 25 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Operates transportation vehicles in a safe manner and complies with all traffic laws.
• Maintains appearance of vehicle; promptly reports vehicle maintenance needs to supervisor/designee.
• Transports patients to and from scheduled appointments.
• Communicates effectively regarding all aspects of job responsibilities.
• Maintains confidentiality of all hospital and patient information as required by hospital policy.
• Is competent in CPR and able to handle any patient emergency.
• Responds promptly to requests for transportation services.
• Reports to work during the time that is required to do the job.
• Lifts and transfers patients appropriately; applies all safety equipment.
• Performs daily and weekly vehicle inspections.
• Maintains current licensure.
• Organizes, plans, and manages time effectively to complete assignments.
• Meets position requirements and performs essential functions.
• Completes mandatory training and courses required by completion date.
• Reports questionable situations, concerns, complaints or harassment immediately.
