Job summary

Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Abilene is seeking a Van Driver to support patient transport and hospital operations. You will be the friendly face for patients, families, staff, and visitors, helping maintain smooth daily flows and safe patient care.

Responsibilities include safe vehicle operation, inspections, patient transfers, CPR readiness, and reporting maintenance needs. This role offers meaningful work close to home with part-time hours.

Qualifications

• Valid driver's license for the heaviest class vehicle.
• CPR and First Aid training.
• High School diploma or GED preferred.
• Previous transportation experience required.
• Must be 25 years of age.

Responsibilities

• Operates transportation vehicles in a safe manner and complies with all traffic laws.
• Maintains appearance of vehicle and promptly reports vehicle maintenance needs.
• Performs daily and weekly vehicle inspections.
• Lifts and transfers patients appropriately; applies all safety equipment.
• Is competent in CPR and/or handles any patient emergency.
