Job summary

North Shore Medical Center, Inc. is seeking a patient transport colleague to facilitate the safe movement of patients, equipment, and supplies within the facility. You will coordinate transportation logistics and maintain professional, courteous service for patients and staff.

The role requires 1-2 years in transportation or a healthcare/customer service setting, BLS certification preferred, and strong communication and multitasking abilities to thrive in a fast-paced hospital environment.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or Equivalent preferred.
• 1-2 years experience in transportation, healthcare, or customer service preferred.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification preferred.
• Ability to interact effectively with patients, families and staff.

Responsibilities

• Safely transport patients within the facility across departments.
• Assist patients with boarding and disembarking from transport vehicles.
• Transport medical equipment, supplies, and specimens between departments.
• Ensure proper handling of delicate equipment and infection control.
• Coordinate transport requests and schedules for timely service.
• Collaborate with nurses and physicians to prioritize needs and urgent requests.
