Job summary

WellSpan Health in York, PA is seeking a part-time Patient Transporter to perform activities related to patient transportation. You will follow established safety guidelines, use appropriate devices, and provide messenger services on request.

You will transport patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support areas, assist with transfers using proper body mechanics, and help maintain department equipment and supplies.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED Required
• Less than 1 year relevant experience. Required
• Basic Life Support Upon Hire Required

Responsibilities

• Transports patients to and from clinical, ancillary and support department areas as directed.
• Assists clinical personnel in transferring patients to or from beds, chairs, wheelchairs or stretchers using appropriate body mechanics to perform patient lifts.
• Assists with care and maintenance of department equipment and supplies.
• Performs dispatching duties such as receiving transport requests, dispatching available transporters based on established priorities, coordinating transports to minimize delays and maintaining appropriate documentation.
