Job summary

BMCHS seeks a Part Time Patient Transporter to move patients, specimens and equipment within the hospital, ensuring safety and timeliness. You will greet patients, verify IDs, and hand off patients to caregivers while maintaining comprehensive transport logs.

Responsibilities include equipment handling, coordinating with vendors if needed, and supporting department operations. Candidates should have 6–12 months of related experience and strong English communication skills.

Qualifications

• Requires heavy lifting, pushing and standing.
• Interpersonal skills to communicate clearly with nursing staff, patients, families/visitors, physicians, and hospital staff.
• Ability to speak, read, and write English.
• Must be able to follow instructions and work independently to complete tasks.
• 6–12 months work experience; customer service or patient transportation preferred.

Responsibilities

• Transports patients, specimens, equipment and related items safely within the hospital.
• Greets patients and visitors with courteous service.
• Verifies patient identification and destination prior to transport.
• Documents transports and maintains transport logs.
• Inspects transport vehicle for safety and cleanliness.
• Assists in emergency/disaster plans and adheres to infection control policies.
