Job summary

Kaiser Permanente is seeking an on-call Patient Transporter at the West LA Medical Center in Los Angeles. The role moves patients, lab specimens, equipment, and supplies across the medical center using wheelchairs or gurneys.

Requirements include Basic Life Support within 1 month of hire, a California driver license, and the ability to follow written and oral directions. Evening shifts with a flexible schedule are typical.

Qualifications

• Six (6) months previous experience in general patient care/hospital transportation.
• Per the National Agreement, current KP Coalition employees have this experience requirement waived.
• Demonstrated ability to follow written and oral directions. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients by wheel chair or gurney within the Medical Center.
• Pick up routine and STAT requests for laboratory specimens, equipment, and supplies and deliver to the correct location.
• Respond to CPR and Code Blue pages as necessary and follow established safety procedures.
