Job summary

WVUH West Virginia University Hospitals is seeking a Transporter to support the patient care team by moving patients and objects between testing areas and departments across the WVUH campuses including Ruby Memorial Hospital, Skilled Nursing Facility, Physician Office Center, Cancer Center and Health Sciences Center.

The role requires greeting patients, preparing them for transport, monitoring their condition during transit, handling oxygen, and reporting concerns to the RN.

Qualifications

• Obtain HeartSaver First Aid certification within 30 days of hire.
• West Virginia state criminal background check required, and Federal, if applicable, for DHHR BMS regulated area.
• High school diploma or Equivalent preferred.

Responsibilities

• Escort patients or items to appropriate departments in WVUH campuses.
• Greet patients, identify self, and assist in preparing for transport.
• Monitor patient condition and invasive devices during transport; intervene if needed.
• Transport patients with oxygen and manage oxygen supplies.
