Job summary

The University of Texas MD Anderson Cancer Center is seeking a Team Leader for Patient Transportation Dispatch to oversee daily dispatch operations and ensure timely, safe patient transport onsite in the Texas Medical Center. This role serves as a key liaison among dispatch staff, escorts, and clinical partners to support hospital-wide patient flow.

The ideal candidate has prior lead experience in patient transportation or healthcare dispatch, with strong staff management and communication

Qualifications

• 3 years patient transportation or healthcare dispatch experience, including 1 year in a lead role.
• Experience managing staff and prioritizing high-volume or emergency requests.
• Strong communication with multidisciplinary stakeholders and patient-centered service.

Responsibilities

• Supervise dispatchers and manage transports using electronic systems.
• Monitor resources and minimize service delays; lead emergency transport responses.
• Oversee daily workflows to ensure policy compliance and service standards.
• Serve as liaison among escorts, dispatchers, and entry-point staff.
• Provide dispatcher training and conduct competency assessments.
• Assist with dispatching and transporting patients and guests as needed.
• Conduct audits and maintain operational data in AMP system.
• Prepare reports on performance metrics and workflow efficiency.
• Lead staff development, mentor team members, and manage client relations.
• Lead daily huddles and provide operational support in the supervisor's absence.
