Job summary

The City of Hope Orange County Lennar Foundation Cancer Center in Irvine is seeking a Patient Transport Tech to move patients and equipment throughout the Medical Center, ensuring safety and comfort during transfers. Responsibilities include using lifts, setting up frames, transporting deceased when needed, and supporting staff and visitors.

Must have a high school diploma, one year of healthcare or service experience, and a valid CA driver’s license; BLS certification within three weeks is

Qualifications

• One year in a similar healthcare position or customer service field.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Current CA Driver's license.
• BLS from American Heart Association obtained within three weeks of hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from nursing units and departments by wheelchair, gurney or ambulette.
• Use lift and safety equipment to transfer patients.
• Set up orthopedic frames, traction, trapeze following doctor's orders.
• Transport deceased to body holding area, releases deceased from body holding when requested.
• Transfer and reposition patients requiring moderate to total assistance as needed.
• Assist with family members, visitors and/or vendors as requested.
• Assist with supply requests as needed.
• Transport medical records, CDs, X-rays, patient care equipment, specimens, mail, reports, and other materials.
• Clean and disinfect patient care equipment.
