Job summary

Wellstar is seeking a Unit Support Associate to facilitate safe patient transportation to and from the ED, radiology, and test areas. You will assist with equipment handling, patient movement, and maintaining supplies while upholding safety and confidentiality.

The role requires strong communication, a compassionate approach, and the ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment under supervision of the Clinical Nurse Supervisor and Centralized Transport Manager.

Qualifications

• HS degree or equivalent required.
• Basic computer skills required.
• Ability to read and speak English.
• Good communication and handwriting.
• Positive attitude and strong customer service.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from ED, Radiology, and procedures.
• Verify patient identification and sign out appropriately.
• Move and transport patients safely with proper equipment.
• Stock rooms and file physician transcription/dictation in EMR.
• Maintain patient confidentiality and provide compassionate care.
• Communicate effectively with RN and health care team.
• Support department performance improvement initiatives.
• Operate EMR and document patient information.
