Job summary

Mercy Medical Center Redding is seeking a Transport/Patient Care Assistant to safely transport patients throughout the facility and provide direct patient care assistance to ensure comfort and continuity during care. You will move patients between departments, assist with mobility, and provide basic care such as turning and feeding, while prioritizing safety and dignity.

Qualifications

• High School Graduate at hire.
• Previous work experience as a Transportation Aide or may waive based on operational needs.
• Basic Life Support (CPR) required at hire.

Responsibilities

• Transport patients to and from departments (e.g., imaging, admissions, discharge).
• Assist with patient mobility and provide basic care such as turning, repositioning, and feeding.
• Ensure patient safety during transport and maintain cleanliness of transport equipment.
• Communicate effectively with clinical staff and respond promptly to patient needs.
• Attend department meetings and stay updated on hospital policies and procedures.
• Follow Joint Commission requirements and regulatory changes.
