Job summary

Memorial Hermann Health System is seeking a dedicated transporter to support clinical workflow by transferring patients using lift equipment under RN/management supervision. You will coordinate with the care team to ensure safe patient movement and efficient daily operations at Memorial City in Houston, with weekend shifts and rotating holiday coverage.

Qualifications

• One year of experience in the healthcare industry.
• Ability to transfer or reposition a patient safely.
• Prolonged standing, walking, lifting up to 75 pounds, and pushing/pulling over 150 pounds.

Responsibilities

• Develops, implements, and maintains processes/procedures that will effectively and efficiently accomplish the movement of patients, supplies, equipment, etc.
• Coordinates lift team patient care to ensure schedules are met.
• Transfers patients to and from wheelchair, stretcher or beds as requested.
• Ensures routine preventative maintenance, safety inspection, and testing is done on all equipment.
• Administers treatments or procedures as delegated by therapist, therapist assistant or nurse.
• These activities designated and defined by therapist/nurse may include, but are not limited to: transferring patients, therapeutic exercise program, functional activities, and mobility activities.
• Ensures safe care to patients, staff and visitors; adheres to all Memorial Hermann policies, procedures, and standards within budgetary specifications including time management, supply management, productivity and quality of service.
• Promotes individual professional growth and development by meeting requirements for mandatory/continuing education and skills competency; supports department based goals which contribute to the success of the organization; serves as preceptor, mentor and resource to less experienced staff.
• Demonstrates commitment to caring for every member of our community by creating compassionate and personalized experiences.
• Models Memorial Hermann's service standards by providing safe, caring, personalized and efficient experiences to patients and colleagues.
