Job summary

Family Centers in Greenwich is seeking a Bilingual Patient Support Specialist to be the first point of contact for patients in a Federally Qualified Health Center clinic. The role requires fluent English and Spanish and a strong focus on customer service and data accuracy.

You will manage appointments, verify information, coordinate with medical staff, and support patient flow while upholding HIPAA and clinic policies in a fast-paced environment.

Bilingual Patient Support Specialist (Spanish/English)

Family Centers is seeking a dynamic, flexible and organized individual to join our healthcare team as a Bilingual Patient Support Specialist.

As the first point of contact for our patients, you will play a crucial role in providing exceptional customer service and ensuring smooth operational flow within our Holly Hill community health clinic. The clinic, a Federally Qualified Health Center, provides primary healthcare, dental and mental health services to those living in Greenwich Public Housing communities and the surrounding neighborhoods.

Responsibilities
  • Greet and assist patients with professionalism and courtesy.
  • Manage phone calls, schedule appointments, and maintain an organized appointment calendar.
  • Collect and verify patient information, insurance details, and other confidential documentation.
  • Facilitate patient check-in and check-out process efficiently.
  • Provide accurate information to patients regarding services, policies and procedures.
  • Collaborate with medical/dental staff to coordinate patient care and address inquiries.
Requirements
  • High School Diploma or GED Certificate
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (oral and written communications)
  • Professional communication and customer service skills
  • Strong organizational abilities and attention to detail
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office software
  • Ability to work the following schedule: Monday-Friday, 8am - 5pm; rotating evenings Tuesdays/Thursdays 11am - 8pm
  • Comfortable with providing translation services in Spanish for patients and staff
Preferred
  • 2+ years of prior administrative/call center/customer service experience
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) - EPIC
  • Exposure/experience with medical terminology and provider billing practices
  • Demonstrated understanding of HIPAA regulations
