Job summary

Endeavor Health is seeking a Patient Support Assistant - Oncology at Kellogg Cancer Center in Evanston, IL. This full-time role involves front desk duties, appointment scheduling, patient registration, and some phlebotomy as needed.

The position requires a High School Diploma or GED, Medical Assistant Certification preferred, and at least 1 year of experience in a medical office. Shift hours involve early mornings with no weekends or holidays.

• Certification: Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
• Experience: One year of work experience required; prior medical office experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Answer phones and schedule appointments.
• Collect co-pays and complete patient registration.
• Provide administrative support to physician practice; check in/out patients.
• Verify insurances and greet patients to exam rooms.
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for visit.
• Provide front office support; perform basic vitals (BP, height, weight).
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required.

Hourly Pay Range: $18.38 - $26.65

The hourly pay rate offered is determined by a candidate's expertise and years of experience, among other factors.

Position Highlights

Position : Patient Support Assistant - Oncology

Location : Kellogg Cancer Center - Evanston, IL

Full Time | 40 hours/week

Hours : shift will vary Monday - Friday, 6:45am - 6pm, no weekends or holidays.

Required Travel: May float to Glenview/Glenbrook and Highland Park locations based on staffing needs

What you will do

• Answer phones
• Schedule appointments
• Collect co-payments
• Complete patient registration
• Provide other administrative support to the physician practice
• Check in and check out patient
• Verify insurances
• Greet patients and escort them to exam room
• Document vital signs, allergies, medications and reason for office visit
• Provide front office support as needed
• Perform basic vitals like BP, height and weight
• Phlebotomy and injections may be required

What you need

• Education : High School Diploma/GED or equivalent work experience, required .
• Certification : Medical Assistant Certification (AMT or AAMA) is preferred.
• Experience : One year of work experience required , previous experience working in a medical office (or related field) is preferred . On the job training is provided for those who do not have previous medical assistant training or experience.
