Job summary

Mercy One – North Iowa in Mason City, IA is seeking a Part-time Supply Tech. The role supports pulling and delivering supplies to clean utilities and patient rooms, using a two-bin Kanban system and assisting the Blue Bin stage operations team.

The position emphasizes teamwork, safety, and adherence to lean processes within the Mercy One system. Responsibilities include managing linen requisitions, following Kanban workflows, and supporting delivery operations.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or certificate preferred.
• None required for experience.
• Must be dependable and able to work flexible hours.
• Plan and organize work duties and stay alert to safety hazards.
• Able to work with a team to accomplish goals.
• Flexibility to work weekends and holidays.
• Must complete mandatory courses (N/A).
• Must provide proof of Basic Life Support (BLS) prior to employment or within 60 days.

Responsibilities

• Counts pulls and fills linen requisitions using proper technology.
• Completes and follows Kanban standard work for Blue bin processes.
• Follow empty Blue Bin returns process and returns to original locations.
• Demonstrates understanding of stage operation and Supply Tech role.
• Maintains teamwork with clinicians and department leadership.
• Keeps supervisor informed of pertinent information and schedules.
• Supports PDCA and lean training in daily work.
• Maintains confidentiality and HIPAA compliance.

JOB SUMMARY

Supply Tech is r esponsible for pulling and delivering supplies to clean utilities and patient rooms on a schedule as assigned. Most supply areas use a two bin Kanban system to ensure supplies are ordered and stored where they are used. They are responsible for ensuring the storage area s are neat, tidy , stocked and fully functioning . They work with and support Blue Bin stage operations team in the warehouse and support strider team moving supplies to specific locations .

These roles support supply chain standard work processes #3000, #3001 and #3002

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Counts pulls and fills linen requisitions using proper technology and process

F ollow s the empty Blue Bin returns process by pulling away all returns to original locations.

Demonstrate s an understanding of how stage operation works and the Supply Tech 1 role in that operation.

Demonstrates teamwork/cooperation in providing services to direct/indirect customers

Keeps Supervisor and team leads informed of pertinent inform ation related to job duties and the completion of scheduled work, pulling the andon when assistance is required

Fosters an environment of PDCA in their daily work activities. Support of PEX activities and lean training

Meets productivity /work standards while demonstrating competency in job skills an d knowledge by completing scheduled work in allotted timeframe

Maintains required department confidentiality and abides by HIPPA regulations.

Provides competent patient care to the above indicated patient populations by obtaining and appropriately interpreting data, making appropriate decisions based on demonstrated knowledge of age-specific growth and development, and appropriately adapting procedures and treatments.
