This role is responsible for leading and supervising staff in the Patient Services Specialist class series, as well as other assigned personnel.**PRIMARY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES*** Ensure smooth daily operations and patient safety by prioritizing tasks and managing workflow.* Oversee staff scheduling, HR data systems, and deliver high-quality customer service.* Track inventory, submit repair orders, and support departmental quality improvement efforts.* Supervise and support staff while modeling professional and courteous communication.* Develop, implement, and maintain organizational systems and unit procedures.* Collaborate to uphold safety standards, infection control, and emergency protocols.* Advocate for patients and families, ensuring privacy, dignity, and cultural sensitivity.* Foster teamwork across departments and represent the unit in meetings and committees.* Maintain knowledge of medical terminology, hospital policies, and Epic ADT systems.* Lead and participate in training, continuing education, and professional development.* Demonstrate strong coordination, multitasking, and leadership skills.* Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word, with experience working with diverse populations.**REQUIREMENTS*** Bachelor’s degree in a medically related or public relations field* Four years of experience as a Patient Services Specialist* An equivalent combination of four years’ experience as a Patient Services Specialist, a UW Supervisory Skill Certificate, and education/experience may substitute for stated requirements**ABOUT UW MEDICAL CENTER-NORTHWEST**UW Medical Center is an acute care hospital located in Seattle with two campuses: Montlake and Northwest.
