Job summary

Corewell Health Urgent Care in Michigan is seeking a friendly Patient Service Representative (Medical Receptionist) to be the first point of contact, greeting patients and supporting efficient front-office operations.

You will verify insurance, collect payments, coordinate with providers, and travel to other Corewell Health Urgent Care locations as needed on a stable full-time, on-site basis.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent. Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus.
• 1+ year of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting preferred.
• Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy environment.
• Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software; EPIC preferred.
• Willingness to work 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Warm Welcome: Greet and assist all patients with a positive attitude.
• Patient and Business Documentation: Maintain confidentiality and organize documents.
• Insurance Verification: Verify eligibility and explain payment policies.
• Financial Responsibility: Collect patient payments and explain costs.
• Collaborative Support: Assist practice manager and staff to ensure smooth operations.
• Compliance: Adhere to HIPAA and OSHA requirements and guidelines.
• Administrative Duties: Perform office procedures and operate medical equipment.
• Quality Assurance: Ensure compliance with quality programs and tracers.
• Travel Requirement: Travel to other Corewell Health Urgent Care locations as needed.
