Job summary

Advanced Radiology Consultants is seeking a Per Diem Patient Services/Patient Care Assistant to float and work evenings. The role combines front desk duties with assisting technologists in patient care to ensure comfort and accurate information for patients and referring physicians.

Responsibilities

  • Greet patients and visitors with warmth and service orientation.
  • Communicate with physicians, patients, and staff by phone to provide information and schedule appointments.
  • Complete patient admissions accurately and efficiently.
  • Explain exam preps and assist technologists or physicians as needed.
  • Collect copays and handle payments according to protocols.
  • Assist technologists, staff, and physicians as requested.
  • Scan documents accurately and manage incoming faxes.
  • Maintain records of outside reads and ensure timely communication of results.
  • Stock radiologic rooms and assist patients on/off exam tables.

We are looking for a Per Diem Patient Services/Patient Care Assistant to join our team to float and work evenings. The pay range for this role will depend on experience and qualifications.

The primary function of this position is split between front desk duties and assisting the technologist with patient care. To ensure patient comfort and exceptional service while providing complete, accurate information to patients, staff, ARC physicians, and referring physicians to support the highest standard of compassionate patient care and efficient operations.

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Greet patients and visitors with warmth, compassion, and demonstrated commitment to exceptional service.
  • Communicate with referring physicians, patients and others by telephone to provide information, answer questions, schedule appointments and call backs, etc.
  • Complete patient admission process accurately and efficiently.
  • Provide and explain exam preps to patients, resolve patients’ questions or concerns; if necessary seek assistance from technologists or physicians.
  • Receive and record patient copays as required by health insurance carriers; ensure that collected cash and checks are processed according to established protocols and schedules.
  • Provide assistance to technologists, patient care assistants, physicians and other ARC staff as requested.
  • Scan documents accurately.
  • Ensure that incoming faxes are delivered and/or acted on immediately.
  • Maintain records of all outside reads; ensure that results are communicated on time.
  • Stocking and preparing radiologic rooms; and assisting the patient on and off the exam table.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
  • Ability to multi-task and function in a fast paced, high volume environment is a must
  • Basic knowledge of anatomy and medical terminology
  • Ability to assist patients on and off exam tables
Educational Requirements:
  • High school diploma or general education degree (GED)
  • Graduate of Medical Office Assistant Program preferred
  • Minimum 1-2 years’ related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
