PATIENT SERVICES REPRESENTATIVE - PHONE REP

Job Details

Description: The Patient Services Representative is responsible for answering and routing calls appropriately, providing routine information to the public professionally, and scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments.

Type: Full-Time, Monday-Friday

Location: Muncie, IN

Responsibilities
  • Answer, evaluate, and route incoming calls promptly.
  • Schedule appointments accurately using event codes and auto search scheduling.
  • Provide general clinic information to the public.
  • Respond to emergency calls per procedures.
  • Communicate with answering services and physician offices; understand physician call schedules.
  • Maintain confidentiality at all times.
  • Participate in professional development and maintain certifications as needed.
  • Attend organizational meetings and perform related duties as assigned.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or GED.
  • At least six months of telephone operations experience, preferably in a clinic setting.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology is preferred.
  • Excellent computer and customer service skills.
Physical & Working Conditions

Standard office environment; sitting and working on a computer for long periods; occasional lifting up to 25 pounds; manual dexterity for office equipment; vision correctable to 20/20; normal hearing range; interacting with staff, physicians, and the public; work may be stressful at times.
