The Patient Services Representative is responsible for answering and routing calls appropriately, providing routine information to the general public in a professional, efficient, and pleasant manner. This role also involves scheduling, rescheduling, and canceling patient appointments.

Responsibilities:
  • Answer, evaluate, and route incoming calls promptly and accurately.
  • Schedule appointments using event codes and auto search scheduling.
  • Provide general clinic information to the public.
  • Respond to emergency calls following established procedures.
  • Communicate with answering services and physician offices; understand and communicate physician call schedules.
  • Maintain strict confidentiality in all situations.
  • Participate in professional development and maintain necessary certifications.
  • Attend organizational meetings and committees as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

High school diploma or GED required. At least six months of telephone operations experience preferred, ideally in a clinical setting. Knowledge of medical terminology is a plus. Excellent computer and customer service skills are essential.

Working Conditions and Physical Requirements:

Standard office environment. Requires sitting for long periods, viewing and typing on a computer, occasional bending, lifting up to 25 pounds, and manual dexterity for office equipment. Vision and hearing should be within normal ranges. Interaction with staff, physicians, and the public may involve handling difficult situations. Work may be stressful at times.
