Job summary

Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center is seeking a Patient Services Representative to be the primary contact for patients, families and caregivers. You will greet, check in, and coordinate the flow of arrivals at our Overlake location, delivering patient and family centered service in a fast paced healthcare setting.

This Per Diem onsite role requires a high school diploma, strong communication, and the ability to manage documents, schedule when needed, and verify information.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• Six months to one year experience in customer service environment.
• Ability to work in a fast paced, complex healthcare environment.
• Effectively organize and manage time and tasks independently.
• Ability to communicate (verbally and in writing) in a clear and concise manner.
• Can use a mouse, navigate computer programs and use email in a professional setting.

Responsibilities

• Greets and screens patients arriving for appointments and checks them in using an automated scheduling system.
• Assembles and distributes appropriate paperwork to patients, families, caregivers and clinical staff.
• Triage questions and concerns from callers and forward to appropriate staff or department as needed.
• Performs general clerical duties including, processing mail, taking inventory and ordering office supplies.
• Activates provider orders (Alliance Lab only).
• May schedule patient appointments as ordered by clinician.May be responsible for the facilitation of patient flow.
• Verifies demographic, clinical and financial information with patient as required.

The hourly pay range for this position is from $28.18 to $40.11, which includes the per diem differential, and pay offered will be based on experience and qualifications.Although Fred Hutch is not sponsoring most H-1B visas at this time, candidates who already hold an H-1B sponsored by another organization and are currently in the U.S. may be eligible for this position.This position is a Per Diem onsite role working Monday-Friday at our Overlake location.Fred Hutchinson Cancer Center offers employees access to a retirement savings plan, an employee assistance program, and paid sick leave (1 hour for every 30 hours worked).
