Job summary

Piedmont Urgent Care is seeking a friendly Patient Services Representative (Medical Receptionist) in Commerce, GA. You will be the first point of contact, manage front-office tasks, and support clinic workflow with a patient-focused approach.

The role requires 1+ year medical front-desk experience, strong communication, and EMR/EPIC familiarity. Full-time, on-site position with shifts from 8 AM–8 PM, no overnights, and benefits including medical, dental, vision, and 401K.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent; medical admin certification is a plus.
• 1+ year experience in a medical office or healthcare setting as a Medical Receptionist.
• Strong communication, attention to detail and multitasking in a busy environment.
• Experience with EMR systems, EPIC preferred.

Responsibilities

• Warm welcome and assist all patients and visitors with a positive attitude.
• Maintain confidentiality and organize patient and business documents.
• Verify insurance benefits, eligibility and provide policy information.
• Determine and collect patient financial responsibility.
• Support practice manager, providers and staff for smooth daily operations.
• Ensure HIPAA/OSHA compliance and proper documentation.
• Travel to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Key Responsibilities:

• Warm Welcome: Greet and assist all patients and visitors with a positive attitude, ensuring they feel comfortable and valued.
• Patient and Business Documentation: Maintain confidentiality while collecting and organizing important patient and business documents.
• Insurance Verification: Analyze health insurance benefits, verify eligibility, and provide patients with relevant payment policies and billing/collection information.
• Financial Responsibility: Determine and collect each patient’s financial responsibility, ensuring transparency and clarity about costs.
• Collaborative Support: Assist the practice manager, providers, and other staff members as needed to ensure smooth daily operations.
• Compliance: Understand and enforce healthcare regulatory requirements such as HIPAA and OSHA standards, ensuring all documentation and processes are handled according to guidelines,and patient result trackers.
• Travel Requirement: Support staffing and operational needs by traveling to other Piedmont Urgent Care locations as required.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications:

• Education: High school diploma or equivalent; Medical Administrative Assistant certificate a plus
• Experience: 1+ years of experience in a medical office or healthcare setting as a Medical Receptionist.
• Skills: Strong communication, attention to detail, and ability to multitask in a busy environment
• Technical Skills: Experience using Electronic Medical Records (EMR) software, EPIC preferred
• Flexibility: Ability to work 12-hour shifts, including some weekends and holidays
• Team Player: A proactive, friendly, and patient-focused approach to service
