Job summary

Frye Regional Medical Center in North Carolina is seeking a Patient Services Representative to support the patient referral process, obtain pre-certifications, and coordinate scheduling for the physician practice.

You will greet patients, manage check‑in/check‑out, handle calls and messages, and collect and post co-pays and balances. A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an Associate's degree is preferred, with strong communication and the ability to work under pressure.

How you'll contribute:

The Patient Services Representative facilitates the patient referral process and obtains appropriate pre-certifications as requested by the provider(s). They are responsible for greeting patients; check-in, check-out, scheduling and managing telephones and messages. Collects and posts co-pays, deductibles and past due patient balances at the time of service.

A Patient Services Representative (PSR) who excels in this role:
  • Performs scheduling, registration, patient pre-admission and admission at the physician practice
  • Performs reception and discharge functions.
  • Accurately obtains complete and accurate patient demographic information.
  • Performs proper, compliant patient liability collection techniques before, during and after date of service.

Qualifications and requirements:
