Job summary

Avera Gregory Healthcare Center is seeking a reception/registration associate to welcome patients, verify insurance, and register new visits across multiple locations. You will scan records, handle calls, and maintain scheduling to support timely care.

Strong communication and confidentiality are essential, with attention to detail and teamwork to ensure a positive patient experience in a fast-paced clinic environment.

Qualifications

  • High School or GED Equivalent or 1-3 months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Ability to communicate effectively with others and maintain confidentiality.
  • Visual acuity adequate to perform duties.

Responsibilities

  • Welcome patients, check them in, register, verify demographics and insurance.
  • Handle insurance verifications, authorizations, and consent forms.
  • Scan information into the patient records.
  • Answer calls, messages and faxes and route as needed.
  • Maintain computer appointment scheduling per policy.
  • Coordinate nurse, physician, and patient time to expedite care.
  • Serve as public relations representative for physicians with patients.
  • Direct patients to ancillary services as needed.

Position Highlights

Primary location is Gregory Clinic - additional locations are Avera Butte Clinic & Avera Fairfax Clinic. You Belong at Avera Be part of a multidisciplinary team built with compassion and the goal of Moving Health Forward for you and our patients. Work where you matter. A Brief Overview Works in the various reception areas throughout the Clinic and is responsible for helping the patients to access the Clinic’s system for care.

What you will do
  • Welcomes patients, checking them in and completing registration which includes verifying demographics, insurance and collection of any service payments.
  • Responsible for insurance verifications, authorizations and getting consent and waiver forms signed as appropriate.
  • Responsible for scanning all pertinent information into the patient’s record.
  • Answers and addresses calls, messages and/or faxes, routing them to appropriate individuals/departments if needed.
  • Maintains computer appointment scheduling and follows office scheduling policies/parameters.
  • Expedites delivery of care by coordinating nurse, physician, and patient time.
  • Acts as public relations agent for the physicians by serving the patients in a friendly, efficient manner.
  • Directs patients to ancillary services as needed.
