Job summary

Morris Hospital & Healthcare Centers is seeking a Patient Service Representative to provide clerical, secretarial and receptionist support for the clinic under supervision. The role includes maintaining records, coordinating and reporting insurance information, and assisting with billing as directed.

Strong communication and teamwork are essential in serving patients and supporting the healthcare team. Actual pay will be determined by qualifications, experience and internal equity.

Job description

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION

• Under the general and direct supervision of the Supervisor or Healthcare Center Manager/Director, the Patient Service Representative provides clerical, secretarial and receptionist support for the clinic independently and with minimum supervision. Maintains all required records and reports, coordinates, processes and reports insurance information. Performs assisted billing functions as directed per Biller / Coder.

QUALIFICATIONS

• Professional/Educational
  • Experience in Ambulatory Care Clinics preferred.
  • Related College Classes preferred.
  • CPR Certification strongly recommended.
• Personal
  • Computer knowledge and clerical / business office functions.
  • Ability to teach and direct other office personnel.
  • Works effectively with others, possessing tact, discretion and diplomacy.
  • Experience in Ambulatory Clinics preferred.
  • Ability to follow directions accurately.
  • Appreciation of and desire to be a part of a health care team dedicated to providing patients optimal care.
  • Willingness to be flexible and adaptable.
  • Maintains the Standards of Conduct.
  • Possess the ability to use proper channels of communication.
