The Salt River Pima-Maricopa Indian Community is hiring a Medical Support Assistant to deliver quality healthcare in a culturally sensitive environment under general supervision. The role supports patient intake, records management, and coordination of referrals.

Responsibilities include greeting visitors, interviewing patients, processing forms, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and assisting with scheduling and transportation for Community Members.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required; relevant technical training preferred.
  • At least one combination of education and experience acceptable per SRPMIC policy.
  • HIPAA compliance and confidentiality are essential.

Responsibilities

  • Greet visitors and answer calls about medical assistance and appointments.
  • Conduct initial patient interview and collect medical record information.
  • Manage, file, and secure patient records and scans.
  • Coordinate referrals and appointments with specialists and pre-authorizations.
  • Schedule appointments and coordinate transportation for Community Members.
  • Provide excellent customer service to patients, insurers, and staff.
  • Maintain health records per retention and disposition procedures.
  • Assist with inventory and procurement of unit supplies.
