Job summary

Aramark is seeking a Patient Services Worker Leads to coordinate diet order interpretation and execution in hospital and long-term care settings. The role serves as a liaison between patients, the Food and Nutrition Services Department, and Nursing Services, and supports other workers.

The position emphasizes accuracy, communication, and adherence to dietary orders, with responsibilities including training staff and maintaining sanitation standards.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Patient Services Worker is required.
• Strong interpersonal and written/verbal communication skills.
• Excellent organizational skills, accuracy and attention to detail.
• Must be able to read, write and speak English; bilingual a plus.

Responsibilities

• Delivers and collects patient trays during meal service.
• Delivers nourishments or snacks as ordered by physician/dietitian.
• Visits patients to introduce the services of the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Obtain patient food preferences from patients or families when possible.
• Communicate all patient food needs to the Food and Nutrition Services Department.
• Ensure diet orders are served with appropriate menu selections.
• Maintain sanitation standards per cleaning schedules.
• Complete sanitation tasks as assigned by Supervisor/Relief Supervisor.
• Train and support other Patient Services Workers.
• Inventory and restock pantries, refrigerators and freezers on assigned units.
• Maintain temperature logs for unit refrigerators and freezers.
• Understand therapeutic diets and seek guidance if errors are observed.
• Assist clinical staff in meeting patients' basic nutrition needs.
