Overview

The US Oncology Network is looking for a Patient Services Coordinator to join Texas Oncology at 4101 James Casey Street #100 clinic in Austin, Texas. This full‑time position supports the Oncology and Radiation Departments. Typical work week is Monday‑Friday, 8:30 a.m.–5:00 p.m.

The position can be Level 1, 2, or Senior based on relevant experience.

What does the Patient Services Coordinator do?

The Patient Service Coordinator professionally greets and welcomes patients and their friends/family, registers and schedules appointments, answers, screens, and directs all incoming calls, relays messages between patients and clinical staff, and supports and adheres to the US Oncology Compliance Program, including the Code of Ethics and Business Standards, and US Oncology's Shared Values.

Responsibilities
  • Greets patients and visitors promptly and courteously, checks them in and informs clinical staff of arrival.
  • Provides necessary paperwork, verifies completeness, files patient forms, updates demographics and insurance information, and collects co‑pays.
  • Answers, screens, and responds to routine questions, routes to appropriate personnel, takes thorough messages, pages staff, and communicates messages accurately and timely.
  • Checks patients out after examination, schedules return appointments, and provides appointment details such as time, location, directions, and instructions.
  • Records cancellations and missed appointments, reschedules, and notifies staff.
  • Provides general administrative support by filing charts and forms, and maintains lobby area and supplies.
  • Adheres to confidentiality, HIPAA, and related state and federal guidelines.
  • Other duties as assigned, including typing memos and forms.
Qualifications
  • Level 1: High school diploma required; some receptionist or office experience preferred; proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel) required; must complete e‑learning within 90 days.
  • Level 2: Includes Level 1 requirements plus at least 18 months of front‑office medical receptionist experience, knowledge of scheduling software and insurance forms.
  • Level Sr: Includes Level 1 & 2 requirements plus at least 5 years of front‑office medical receptionist experience.
Physical Demands

Regularly required to sit, use hands, and occasionally lift up to 30 lbs. Requires vision and hearing within normal ranges. Accommodations may be provided for disabilities.
