The role you’ll contribute:
Under general supervision, the Patient Services Coordinator coordinates the operational aspects of the Center for Sleep Disorders. Coordinates all related schedules and appointments, directs patients to appropriate physicians, obtains all necessary authorizations and remains in continuous communication with Preaccess and Sleep Clinical teams. Serves as a first responder to patient issues and works to find solutions to any barriers presented. Coordinates with durable medical equipment (DME) providers to ensure patients receive all needed therapeutic devises and supplies while actively tracking compliance data to maintain patients’ therapy adherence. Coordinates and facilitates with Medical Directors to obtain and regulate patient prescription requirements for both DME and pharmaceuticals. Actively participates in outstanding customer service and accepts responsibility in maintaining relationships that are equally respectful to all.
The value you’ll bring to the team:
Responds to patient and physician inquires and referrals and directs to the appropriate physician/physician group based upon the patient’s condition. Responds to customer/patient letters, email correspondence, telephone inquiries or direct questions from patients, administrators or hospital staff securing necessary information to resolve issues within specific timeframes.
Based upon recommended protocol, coordinates all aspects of scheduling and admission. Ensures all team members responsible to the success of the study procedure are available and that they understand their complementary roles. Creates the necessary accounts and ensures that all preparations are in order.
Monitors and processes daily, weekly and monthly reports and Schedule List to ensure expeditious scheduling of patients. Reviews patient encounters and assesses errors delaying insurance authorizations and corrects edits on accounts to facilitate clean processes from referral to authorization and onto scheduling. Monitors team mailbox, and/or email inbox, researches questions, patient account activity and other related account documentation, responding within defined timeframes. Monitors Daytime Polysomnographic Studies/PAPnaps assessing for quality of recordings and Artifact resolution.
Identifies appropriate area with Patient Access/Patient Financial Services, directs patient account issues for resolution, including escalation to direct supervisor and/or manager.
Qualifications
The expertise and experiences you’ll need to succeed :
Basic Life Support (BLS)
Certification in a healthcare field
