Actalent is seeking an on-site Medical Records Specialist in Sacramento, CA to manage electronic and paper medical records and support EHR documentation. EPIC experience is required, with HIPAA compliance and proactive information management at the core of the role.

Qualifications

• Experience in Medical Records / Health Information Management is required.
• Healthcare Administration or Patient Access experience is needed.
• Experience with EHR systems, specifically Epic, is required.
• Knowledge of HIPAA and release of information processes is expected.

Responsibilities

• Manage, organize, and maintain electronic and paper medical records.
• Scan, upload, index, and file patient documents into the EHR system.
• Process medical records and release of information requests.
• Verify patient information and ensure documentation accuracy.
• Identify and resolve record discrepancies, duplicate records, and filing errors.
• Maintain HIPAA compliance and privacy regulations.
• Support audits, compliance reviews, and quality assurance activities.
• Generate reports and assist with data collection and record retrieval.
• Provide support to patients, providers, and staff regarding health information needs.
• Collaborate with clinical and administrative teams to ensure accurate documentation and continuity of care.

This position is responsible for managing medical records, supporting electronic health records (EHR), processing release of information requests, ensuring HIPAA compliance, and collaborating with clinical and administrative teams to maintain accurate patient health information.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $24.90 - $24.90/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.
