Job Description

Job Responsibilities

• Schedule and register patients for outpatient clinics.
• Verify patient eligibility and ensure all pre-authorizations, referrals, and pre-certifications are obtained by collaborating with physician offices, Utilization Review, and Business Office Departments.
• Perform other duties as directed by the Supervisor.

Communication & Teamwork

• Communicate effectively with all levels of clinic staff and visitors.
• Greet and assist visitors.
• Answer incoming calls and provide accurate information.
• Participate in staff meetings and foster positive communication.
• Work collaboratively with team members and resolve conflicts independently when appropriate.

Qualifications

• Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
• Experience: 1 year of clerical experience in a medical office setting required; related experience may be considered.
• Skills: Knowledge of medical terminology, excellent communication skills, customer service, and insurance knowledge. Preferred: knowledge of government programs, ICD-10, CPT, computer skills, Microsoft Office.

Physical Demands

Frequent sitting and standing, occasional walking, bending/stooping, repetitive arm/hand movements, ability to lift up to 20 lbs., and proficient communication skills.

Additional Information

• May require safety equipment use, such as HEPA masks.
• Travel between facilities may be required.
