Rocky Mountain Cancer Centers, Colorado's largest and most comprehensive provider of cancer care has an exciting opportunity for an experienced Patient Service Coordinator in Englewood at our Swedish location.

No matter the role each RMCC team member serves, the goal is the same: to provide the best care possible for each and every one of our patients. Whether we are a nurse holding our patient's hand, or a scheduler on the phone finding an appointment that fits into a patient's schedule, we are deeply connected to our patients and do what we can to help.

Salary Range: $18.00-$24.00. Responsibilities
  • Schedule new patients and return appointments in computer system in accordance with physician and/or office guidelines. Cancel or reschedule appointments according to physician schedule changes; notify appropriate clinic personnel.
  • Obtain and enter all authorization and correspondence relating to referrals in patients' charts and computer.
  • Schedule outpatient appointments/testing and hospital admissions upon request.
  • Obtain necessary pre‑certification as required. Handle new patient referrals, gather necessary information, assign the patient account number and schedule appointment.
  • Collect co‑pays, deductible and other out‑of‑pocket amounts at time of visit. Maintain primary office scheduling book containing all physician meetings, satellite schedule, rounding and call coverage.
  • Handle incoming phone calls from patients needing to schedule or reschedule appointments.
  • Provide patients with accurate and legible appointment cards. Document no‑shows in patient’s chart for missed visits. Follow up with patient to reschedule any missed appointments and arrange for patients to have financial counseling as needed.
  • Demonstrate an understanding of patient confidentiality to protect the patient and clinic/corporation.
  • Follow policies and procedures to contribute to the efficiency of the front office.
  • Cover for other front office functions as requested.
Qualifications

High School diploma or equivalent required. Position requires at least 3 years of office experience, medical office preferred. Have excellent communication skills, written and verbal. Proficiency with computer systems is required. Microsoft Outlook, Word, and Excel a plus.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS

The physical demands described here are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job. Work may require sitting for long periods of time; also stooping, bending and stretching for files and supplies. Employee is required to be present at the employee site during regularly scheduled business hours and is regularly required to sit or stand and talk or hear. Requires manual and finger dexterity, and eye‑hand coordination for computer work. Occasionally lifting files or paper weighing up to 30 pounds. Requires corrected vision and hearing to normal range for telephone contacts.

WORK ENVIRONMENT

The work environment may include exposure to communicable diseases, toxic substances, ionizing radiation, medical preparations and other conditions common to an oncology/hematology clinic environment. Work will involve in‑person interaction with co‑workers and management and/or clients. Work may require minimal travel by automobile to office sites.

All qualified candidates are required to pass a background check and non‑federal drug test (which excludes marijuana) post offer of employment and prior to hire.
